While we wait for Toyota to reveal some details about a new 86, Toyota continues to release special versions of the current generation. That won’t change for the 2019 model year, since it’s being reported that Toyota will introduce a new TRD Special Edition of the 86.
The 2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition (SE) has been listed in order guides that CarsDirect uncovered. As its name suggests, the 86 TRD Special Edition gets some performance upgrades, like a TRD body kit, new spoiler and 18-inch split-spoke wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires, Brembo brakes, SACHS dampers and a TRD exhaust.
The 86 SE will also only be offered with a six-speed manual, but unfortunately there aren’t any upgrades to the four-cylinder engine. On the outside, the 86 TRD Special Edition will only come in one color, Raven black with a tricolor TRD graphic on the side. Inside the interior will feature a red and black theme.
Toyota hasn’t unveiled the 86 TRD Special Edition, but according to the order guides the 2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition will start at $33,340 with the destination fees.
