It’s been a very long three years since Acura unveiled the NSX concept and now Acura has unveiled the new NSX in production form. Luckily most of the design details from the original concept have translated into the production 2016 NSX.
On the outside the 2016 NSX may look very close to the previous two NSX concepts, but under the skin there are some big changes. Sometime during the design process, Acura decided to ditch the normally aspirated 3.5L V6 for a bespoke twin-turbocharged V6. With the combination of the its three electric motors, the 2016 NSX will generate north of 550 horsepower. The powertrain is mated to a new 9-speed dual clutch transmission and the two electric motors up front give the NSX all-wheel-drive. The Acura NSX comes with a dial-operated Integrated Dynamic System with Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track modes.
