Subaru has announced that the 2019 Subaru WRX and WRX STI will both be getting new limited edition Series.Gray versions, which will arrive this summer. The Series.Gray versions of the 2019 WRX and WRX STI will be extremely limited with production limited to 750 WRXs and 250 WRX STIs.
The 2019 Subaru WRX Series.Gray is based on the WRX Premium trim level, but is available exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission and are painted in a Cool Gray Khaki exterior with exclusive Crystal Black Silica badging and exterior mirrors as well as 18-inch black alloy wheels. Pricing for the WRX Series.Gray starts at $32,595 and includes special Recaro seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, JURID front brake pads, LED headlights, LED foglights and a push button start. The package also deletes the moonroof.
The 2019 WRX STI Series.Gray starts at $39,695 and gets the same exterior styling features as the WRX Series.Gray, but also adds some performance upgrades. The WRX STI Series.Gray version gets a Bilstein STI sport-tuned suspension featuring Bilstein dampers for the inverted-strut front suspension and double wishbone rear suspension.
Other upgrades for the 2019 Subaru WRX and WRX STI models, includes a new infotainment with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and the addition of the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology on WRX models equipped with the CVT. The bigger news is that the 2019 Subaru WRX STI’s 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder now generates 310 horsepower thanks to a new air intake, high flow performance exhaust, a retuned ECU and stronger pistons. The six-speed manual also has a revised 3rd gear ratio which helps contribute to faster acceleration.
Pricing for the 2019 Subaru WRX starts at $28,080, while the WRX STI starts at $37,480 with the destination fees.
