What Were the Top 20 Best-Selling Vehicles in the US in May?…The Ford F-Series Lost the Crown!

The Detroit Free Press has posted the list of the top-20 best selling vehicles in the US last month. The list looks pretty similar to last month, with only a few vehicles moving up or down the list. The overall trend seems to be that consumers are moving further away from trucks and SUVs.

The big change last month is the fact that the Ford F-Series was not the best selling vehicle. The F-Series has been the best selling vehicle in the US for over 20 years. The Chevrolet Silverado was redesigned for the 2007 model year, which can explain its sales increase. F-Series sales declined 11.7 percent last month, while the Chevrolet Silverado sales increased by 15.3 percent. Overall for the 2007 year, the F-Series is still the best selling vehicle with 290,282 vehicles sold and the Silverado is in second with 265,941 vehicles sold. If last month’s trend continues the F-Series could lose its title that it has held for the last quarter of a century!
