Kia gave us a preview of what to expect with the next-generation 2012 Rio in Geneva this past march, with the 2012 Rio hatchback. Now Kia has unveiled the sedan version of the all-new Rio.

Michael Sprague, vice-president, marketing & communications, KMA stated, “The all-new Rio brings Kia’s successful combination of world-class styling, outstanding fuel economy, advanced technologies and tremendous value to the smallest and most economical vehicle in the Kia line-up.”

The 2012 Rio sedan has the same front end as the hatchback, which is definitely not a bad thing. The Rio sedan is longer, lower and wider than the current generation. The Rio will be powered by a 135-hp 1.6L GDI four-cylinder engine in the U.S. The Rio is expected to get 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.
