It’s already been reported that the all-new 2013 Chevy Malibu will not be getting a V6 when it is released in the U.S. early next year. has already unveiled the eAssist and 2.5L versions, but we have yet to hear what GM has in store as a replacement for the current V6.
GMI is reporting that the Malibu is set to get a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that it will share with the upcoming Cadillac ATS. The 2.0L turbocharged engine will be all-new and part of GM’s new family of Ecotec four-cylinders. It’s expected that the engine will put out between 270-280 horsepower.
