Set to debut in April at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show, the 2018 John Cooper Works Countryman is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The four-cylinder can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive is standard. The John Cooper Works Countryman can reach 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, 0.8 seconds faster than the Cooper S Countryman ALL4, with a top speed of 145 mph.

The sport-tuned suspension features a single-joint spring strut axle at the front and a multilink rear axle. Plus an optional sports suspension tightens things up further. The sports brake system was designed in collaboration with Brembo with 4-piston calipers at the front.

On the outside the John Cooper Works Countryman features a unique aerodynamic kit with large air intakes in the front. While inside there are sports seats with integrated headrests, a JCW steering wheel and JCW gear or selector lever.

The 2018 John Cooper Works Countryman is going to arrive in showrooms in April.
