Honda has yet to officially release the specs for the new Civic Si, but an email from Honda may have released the torque spec for the Civic Si’s new turbocharged engine.

It’s not known who all the recipients were for the email, but a CivicX forum member recently posted the email, which stats that the 1.5L turbocharged engine will generate 192 lb-ft of torque. That’s only marginally better than the last Civic Si with its 174 lb-ft. The horsepower spec wasn’t listed, but it’s expected to be north of 200 horsepower, since Honda has already said it will have more horsepower than the last Civic Si.

If you want more performance with a Civic badge, you don’t have to dream any longer, since the Civic Type R is finally coming to the U.S. The Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 306-hp and 295 lb-ft.

Both the Civic Type R and new Civic Si will be at the New York Auto Show next month. The Civic Si is only going to be offered in the sedan and coupe bodystyles, while the Type R will only be offered as a hatchback.
