As promised Cadillac has officially unveiled the hot version of the ATS, the 2016 ATS-V. The ATS-V is ready to go head to head with models like the BMW M3 and M4 with its 455-hp twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 that accelerates it from 0-60 mph in a quick 3.9 seconds.
The ATS-V is available in both sedan and coupe versions and will arrive in the spring of 2015. It’s powered by a 3.6L V6 with 455 horsepower and 445 lb-ft. of torque. Buyers can choose from either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Compared to the standard ATS, the ATS-V gets a more aggressive face with a mesh grille and larger air intakes. A front splitter and unique hood also let you know that this ATS is packing something hot under the hood. At the rear there’s a four-tailpipe exhaust system and rear spoiler. The ATS-V also rides on more aggressive 18-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Buyers that want even more can choose to add the Carbon Fiber and Track packages. The Carbon Fiber package adds a larger front splitter, carbon fiber hood vent and a carbon fiber rear diffuser. The Track package builds on the Carbon Fiber Package with a lighter battery and performance data recorder.
Cadillac hasn’t released the pricing, but both the 2016 ATS-V sedan and coupe are expected to arrive in the spring.
