A few days ago Land Rover took the wraps off its first plug-in hybrid, the 2019 Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid. Jaguar Land Rover has already announced plans to electrify its whole lineup and now it’s being reported that the Range Rover Evoque will be next.
Land Rover has yet to confirm it, but it’s expected that the next-generation Range Rover Evoque will get a plug-in hybrid version around 2019. The Range Rover Evoque Plug-in Hybrid will be powered by a 1.5L three-cylinder engine that’s mated to an electric motor. The lithium-ion battery pack will get 48-volt electric architecture.
The next-generation Range Rover Evoque will transition to a large platform and in addition to the PHEV version, it will also be offered with a range of gasoline and diesel engines. The Range Rover Evoque PHEV will likely arrive as a 2020 model.
