2018 Jeep Wrangler production kicks off in November

2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Leak

Jeep has yet to reveal the next-generation 2018 Jeep Wrangler, code named JL, but we’ve already received lots of info about it. Last week we heard about the upcoming Jeep Wrangler truck, which might be called the Scrambler and now we know when production of the 2018 Wrangler will enter production.

An unnamed dealer revealed to JLWranglerForums that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will start rolling off the production line in mid-November, but not all the versions will be produced immediately. The first model will be the Unlimited V-6 hardtop, which will be followed by the Unlimited Dual Top and soft top versions in December.

In February 2018 the two-door V-6 hardtop and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder Wrangler Unlimited will enter production. If you want a soft top of either body style with the 2.0L four-cylinder, you’ll have to wait until the spring, since it will the soft top versions with the four-cylinder will enter production in March. The current JK Wrangler will continue to be produced until March 2018.

A new power top version will start rolling off the line in May 2018 and lastly the diesel will arrive in August. The Jeep Wrangler Hybrid will arrive later as a 2019 model.

Of course things could change within a few months if Chrysler has any production issues. Chrysler is also looking at the possibility of pulling the production date forward a few weeks, with the new Wrangler rolling off the line by the end of October, but nothing has been announced.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will debut in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
