It’s been so long that we’ve been discussing the hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it’s finally here! Jeep is going to unveil the insane 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk this week at the New York Auto Show.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is powered by the same 6.2L supercharged V8 as the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Yup that means that the Jeep Grand Cherokee now has a 707 horsepower version! Jeep is quick to label the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk as the “most powerful” SUV ever.

Just how fast? The 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk can reach 60 mph in only 3.5 seconds, the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph. With that much power on tap, it only makes sense that the Grand Cherokee also get an upgraded braking system. At the front there are 15.75-inch Brembo rotors, while the rear gets 13.78-inch rotors. Thanks to the upgraded braking system, the Trackhawk only needs 114 feet to stop from 60 mph.

The eight speed automatic transmission has also been upgraded with a stronger rear drive shaft and rear axle. The all-wheel drive system also has five different driving modes: auto, sport, track, tow and snow.

On the outside, the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk doesn’t look too different from the Grand Cherokee SRT, with the exception being the deletion of the SRT’s fog lights. At the rear, get used to seeing the new quad tailpipes as the Trackhawk speeds past you.

What about the inside? The speedometer now as a 200 mph top speed and drivers can access performance stats via the 8.4-inch touchscreen. There’s also a new steering wheel with the Trackhawk logo and the nappa leather seats feature a Trackhawk log on the headrests.

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will reach showrooms in the fourth quarter of this year. Jeep has not announced the pricing.
