A few weeks ago Honda officially brought back the Insight, which is coming back as a new stylish hybrid sedan. Now Honda is reportedly getting ready to bring back another model – the Honda Passport. The Passport dates back to the mid 1990s, which was Honda’s first SUV before the CR-V or Pilot were born. Honda is reportedly gearing up to add the Passport to its SUV lineup as a new SUV between the CR-V and Pilot.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard reports about the Passport’s comeback. Last year a trademark for the Passport name was discovered and it was speculated that the name would be used for a new five passenger SUV. Sources are now confirming more details about the new Passport. First it will rival other five passenger SUVs, like the Ford Edge and Nissan Murano. It will also rival the upcoming , which is also coming back to life.

According to sources close to the plan, the Passport will debut in November at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show before it goes on sale in early 2019. The Passport will likely share its platform with the Pilot, but it will be about six inches shorter. It will also likely be built at Honda’s Lincoln, Alabama plant that also produces the Pilot, Ridgeline and Odyssey models.

Honda has yet to release an official statement about the new Passport, but we’ve also seen leaked patent photos.
