BMW has released the first teasers of the 2019 BMW Z4 M40i doing laps at BMW’s test center Miramas in the south of France. The Z4 M40i will be the most powerful version of the Z4 range with its turbocharged six-cylinder engine.
BMW is keeping the big details under wraps, which means that it’s not yet ready to reveal the specs for the six-cylinder engine, which BMW simply calls “simply powerful.” The 2019 BMW Z4 M40i will also feature a lowered sports suspension with electronically controlled dampers, a new front axle, M light alloy wheels with mixed tires, an M sports brake system and an electronically controlled lock in the rear axle differential.
“The vehicle concept of the new BMW Z4 is geared consistently towards agility and driving dynamics,” explains Jos van As, Head of Application Suspension. “The high level of body stiffness and the very rigid suspension attachment provide the perfect basis for a set-up that guarantees the performance qualities of a genuine sports car in terms of steering precision as well as longitudinal and transverse acceleration.”
BMW hasn’t announced when it will take the wraps off the 2019 BMW Z4.
