BMW has officially unveiled the all-new 2019 BMW 3 Series, which is one of the biggest debuts we’ll see this week at the Paris Motor Show. The seventh-generation 2019 3-Series will arrive in March with the arrival of the 330i and 330i xDrive, which will then be followed by the M340i and M340i xDrive models.

The 2019 BMW 3 Series doesn’t deviate too far from the look of the sixth-generation. At the front the 2019 3 Series has a more aggressive face with a new interpretation of the kidney grille. The 2019 BMW 3 Series Sedan is 2.9 inches longer, 0.6 inches wider and 0.5 inches taller than the outgoing model. It’s wheelbase has been stretched 1.6 inches and its track widths have increased by 1.7 inches in the front and 0.8 inches in the rear. Even with its bigger dimensions, the 2019 BMW 3 Series is up to 121 pounds lighter than its predecessor and its drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.26.

The first model to arrive will be the 2019 BMW 330i, which is powered by a new turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that generates 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new four-cylinder has 7 more horsepower and 37 more lb-ft. than the outgoing engine. The 2019 330i can reach 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The 330i is priced at $41,245, while the 2019 330i xDrive starts at $43,245.

In the spring of 2019, the M340i and M340i xDrive models will arrive with a turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine that generates 382 hp and 369 lb-ft. of torque. The M340i models also send the power to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The BMW M340i xDrive sedan can reach 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.

Under that new more “athletic” body, the 2019 3 Series rides on a new suspension with lift-related dampers to give it a smoother ride. The new suspension reduces body movement by smoothing out vibrations caused by bumpy road surfaces and dynamic cornering. The system adds extra hydraulic damping at the front axle and a compression limiting system at the rear.

Inside the 2019 3 Series features the new BMW Live Cockpit, which features iDrive 6.0 with an 8.8-inch digital touchscreen and a 5.7-inch digital instrument color display. You can also upgrade it with a 12.3-inch high-resolution digital instrument cluster display and a 10.25-inch digital touch screen display with the new iDrive 7.0 operating system.
