Although BMW has released a series of teaser photos of the all-new 2018 BMW M5, we’ve been waiting patiently for all the details. Now it’s being reported that BMW is going to unveil the new M5 later this month, right before its debut at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 2018 BMW M5 will be powered by a turbocharged 4.4L V8 and according to the latest reports, it will generate around 600 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. The M5 will feature BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system, but it will have a feature to send all the power to only the rear wheels. Expect a 0-62 mph time around 3.5 seconds.
Although the new M5 is expected to debut next month, there’s a report that the first deliveries may not happen until next spring, since a user on the Bimmer Post forum recently received an April 2018 delivery date for their reservation.
