Aston Martin has taken the covers off the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage ahead of its debut next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The revamped 2019 Vantage not only gets a stunning new body, but it also shares its platform with the DB11 and gets a Mercedes-AMG 4.0L V8.
The 2019 Vantage is based on a shortened version of the DB11’s aluminum platform. At just over 175 inches long, the new Vantage is 11-inches shorter than the DB11 and even though it does share the same platform as the DB11, about 70 percent of the Vantage’s structure is unique. The 2019 Vantage comes in at 3,373 pounds, but it still has the perfect 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution.
To improve its performance the 2019 Vantage gets new electronic chassis systems, like an electronic rear differential with torque vectoring, electronic power steering and adaptive dampers. Three driving modes can adjust the systems’ settings: Sport, Sport Plus and Track.
Now for what’s under the hood. The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage is powered by a Mercedes-AMG sourced 4.0L V8 that generates 503 horsepower and 505 lb-ft. of torque. The Vantage will reach 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 195 mph. The V8 is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage will arrive in the second quarter of 2018 with a price tag starting at $149,995.
